Button-up Shirts

If you've never owned a
button-up shirt...you are missing out.
Not only are button-up shirts
extremely cute, but they also
work on all body types! These
shirts are very tailored, yet
they can be casual, so you can
wear them anywhere from
the office to the park, to a
dinner, etc.

Button-up dress shirts can go with
anything, and I mean
everything. Skirts, pants, jeans,
high heels, no heels, etc.
These babies will do wonders for
your waist as well
as make your look more polished
and professional.

If you think button-up shirts are
only for the office, think
again. These shirts are very fun
to wear because they can be
easily accessorized with pearls,
a wrap-around scarf, or
whatever else you have in mind!

Trust me, put on a form-fitting pair
of jeans, a crisp white
button-up shirt, add some
pink pearls and a pair of heels,
and not only will you look professional,
but you'll also look
classy, stylish, and
casual all at the same time!

Check out these pictures and inspire yourself!

Get Healthy Hair

Your hair goes through a lot of
damage...blow drying, product
build-up, straightening, curling,
etc. All these things can take
a really deep effect on your hair
especially if your hair is treated.
Most women die their hair, or
if they don't...they
get a perm. So it's really
hard to maintain healthy hair
at the same time. The best hair
treatment you can get is
basically a vacation for your hair.
If you see that your hair is getting
really dry and you have a lot of split
ends...go get it cut. Even if you're
trying to grow your hair out, the
best thing to do at this point is to
get all of your split ends cut off (don't
worry it'll grow back). After
having done that, take a
break from colouring or
perming your hair. Your hair
follicles need to rejuvenate from
all the "stress".

So start off by using a good shampoo
that will remove all the build-up like
Neutrogena. It'll leave your hair clean
and free of all the goo. Don't use any
special products like anti-frizz or
volumizer or mousse. Just stick to
a clean shampoo
and then maybe a deep conditioner.

After having washed your hair, make
sure that you let it air dry. Brush it
slowly, without ripping your hair out
of course, and let it completely air dry.
Make sure you keep up this regiment
for a couple of weeks and if at
all possible, try washing your hair every
other day, instead of every single day.

If you keep this up, your hair should
bounce back to its natural look. When
you use a lot of products and blow-dry
your hair, your hair gets stripped of its
natural oils, and therefore it looks dry
and damaged. Make sure you
follow these steps for natural, beautiful hair.

The Best Makeup

When you think of the perfect
makeup...you probably ask
yourself; well how much
makeup? It is a proven
study that men are actually
more attracted to women
that have full makeup on,
but not overly done makeup.
Basically, the best makeup
is the full makeup, but at the
same time...the "not-so
noticeable makeup".

So how exactly do you get this
makeup face? It's the easiest,
as well as the best! Start off
with a good concealer where
needed. Then continue with
foundation using a damp sponge.
This will sheer out the base so it
doesn't look like a mask on your face.

Shell out a few bucks for a good
bronzer and dust over your forehead,
chin, nose and cheeks. These are
the high points of the face that
get naturally sun tanned. Add a
little bit of cream blush to your
cheeks ( try a pink-peach blush).
Highlight your cheekbones with a
good shimmer powder.

Move on to your eyes and use a
golden makeup palette of at least
three colours. Start off with your
lids and cover them with a glimmery
beige tone, then brush a deeper
caramel hue in your creases. Finish
off with a metallic bronzer to lightly
line your lashes.

Put on two coats of black mascara.
Don't forget to use your eyelash
curler! Pick up a neutral lip liner.
Fill them in with a shiny rose-tinted
lip gloss.

The Pencil Skirt

Don't have a clue about what
to wear to work? To school?
To a meeting? An interview?
Pretty much anywhere you
can think of, you can wear
the pencil skirt. It's dressy,
yet casual at the same time.
It's professional, yet laid back.
It's the perfect combination
between all of these, and it's
so easy to wear!

The pencil skirt is basically a
straight cut skirt that can go
from right above the knees
to right under the knees.
It's perfect for practically
any occasion!

Pick a pencil skirt in a neutral
colour as it will be easy to
match with anything. All
brown colours, khakis, etc
look great on anyone.

You can match up the pencil
skirt with knee-high boots,
sandals, stilettos, or anything
you like. Not to mention you
can wear all and any tops
such as a button-up dress shirt,
a collared shirt, a v-neck or a
turtle neck.

Accessorize the pencil skirt with a
nice belt, or a silk scarf around
your neck. Don't forget the dangling earrings!

The Hot New Accessory

As sad as it may be, summer is
soon coming to an end. We have
to say goodbye to warm sunny
days, long, summer dresses and
sexy bathing suits. But don't
worry, just because summer is
over doesn't mean that you still
can't look your best. Sure, winter
can do a lot of damage to your hair
and skin, but your style can still be
hot and fashionable.

A hot new accessory that is popping
up all over stores and the runways
of course is the scarf. I'm not talking
about that wool scarf that your
grandma made you in grade 5,
but about the scarf as a fashion
accessory.

I'm sure you've seen these scarves
somewhere out there in the fashion
world, they're everywhere! They
compliment your outfit, as well as
add flare and a sense of fashion.
Choose a colour that suits your
skin tone. Warm colours like
beije, dark green, khaki, or light
brown will suit all skin types.

Make sure that when you wrap the
scarf around your neck, you leave
one side to the front and one to the
back. This look goes great with a
v-neck shirt and a pair of jeans,
or even for a dressier look
(think black dressy pants,
with a sequined shirt). For the
dressier look, try a different
fabric like silk or satin.

You can look ultra glamorous with
sparkly or sequined scarves.
This look can be worn with a
dressier look, or even a casual
one (just to kick it up a notch!)

So make sure that this fall you look
the part by adding one of the hottest
accessories; the scarf. You won't regret it!

Red Lipstick

Be seen, and be remembered this
year with the biggest comeback of
all! All throughout the years, fashion
has come and gone. Anything and
everything from clothes, to accessories,
to makeup. Fashion has made a statement
that although it started somewhere, it
will always come back, no matter what!

So what's the big fashion statement that
has graced us with its presence this year?
Red lipstick. That's right ladies...the
dreaded bright red lipstick. But don't
worry, the bright blue eyeshadow isn't
included!

Red lipstick is a hot item this year.
It gives off a very hot and sensual vibe.
But be careful how you wear it, because
one little glitch and you'll end up looking
like a clown. So first, think about where
you would wear red lipstick. Going jogging?
Certainly not.

Red lipstick should be worn during the
evening when you decide to dress up for
a certain occasion. This shade of lipstick
will attract anyone as well as make you
look hot and confident.

When wearing red lipstick, stay clear of
dramatic eye makeup. That means, no
bright eyeshadows, or anything that
jumps out. If you're going to wear the
red lipstick, stick to the red lipstick, a
nude coloured eyeshadow and some
mascara.

Red lipstick looks gorgeous on anyone that
can pull off a curve-hugging red dress. As
always, that look will always be a classic.

Make sure you put on a nude lip-liner as
well as finish off with a clear gloss for
ultra-shine and sexiness. Follow these
tips, and you'll be sending off hot, red,
vibes in no time!

Get Party Makeup

We all know that doing our makeup
during the day, should never be the
same when we do our makeup at night.
That is why, the “party makeup” exists.
Basically, the party makeup is fun, bold,
dramatic makeup that you can wear when
attending an evening out.

Start off by choosing a one shade darker
than your skin foundation. This will hide
any imperfections as well as give your
skin a little bit of colour. Apply some
blush with a brush on your cheeks.
Make sure that you start from the
apples of your cheeks up to your temples.
If you want an extra glow, you can apply
some on your chin and forehead
( just don’t go overboard!)

Get an eye shadow kit that has a
highlighter. Apply the highlighter
on the space beneath the brows.
Then continue by applying the
medium colour on the upper eye
lids only. Then swap the darkest
shade on the crease between the
two shades and blend well. With a
thin brush, apply the darkest eye
shadow right under your eyes,
touching the lower lash line. You
can finish off by adding some
eyeliner to give some definition to
your eyes.

Don’t forget to apply two black, thick
coats of mascara. When doing this,
make sure that you start at the very
bottom of your lashes so that they
extend to their furthest. If you wish
to get super curly lashes, use an
eyelash curler, and then detangle
your lashes with a detangler.

Use an eyebrow pencil. Make sure it
suits your natural eyebrow colour
and apply it sparingly, making sure
that it is not noticeable. For a super
party look, you can finish off by
applying a coloured coat of mascara,
or even a sparkly one.

Now remember that if your eyes
are dramatic, make sure you keep
your lipstick to a minimum. So pick
a coral colour of lipstick, and then
add some lip-gloss. You are now ready
to face the world, as well as be the
hottest item at the party!

Look Sexy, Not Sleazy

There is always a fine line between
looking sexy and looking sleazy and
unfortunately, a lot of girls cross that
line. It’s hard to always know what’s
in style, what’s appropriate, and
what’s not. But you have to always
remember that if you do have
something revealing on, make sure
that it’s just one item, and not the
entire outfit! For example, if you
have a mini-skirt on, don’t wear an
extremely short top and high heels.
You’ll just end up looking like a hooker!

No matter what you think, red lipstick is
still hot! It adds a little bit of mystery and
is extremely sexy. You can also add a little
bit of gloss to your red lipstick to make your
lips stand out as well as plump them up.As
for shades or red, choose blue-reds for darker
skin tones; orangey hues for olive; true reds
for blondes.

Put on a pair of sexy sunglasses. Sunglasses
make anyone look mysterious and very sexy.
Make sure you get a pair that suits your face.
You can also add a sexy hat with your sunglasses
(like Sarah Jessica Parker). She wears amazingly
cute hats, and yes you can pull it off too! Don’t
worry about looking weird, just make sure the
particular hat suits you!

Instead of wearing hot leather pants and a
short top, opt for a conservative, but sexy
and feminie look like a flowery summer dress.
It will make your curves stand out. You can also
wear feel-good fabrics such as cashmere, silk,
and satin. Not only will these make you look good,
but you’ll feel fabulous too!

Treat Your Cellulite…at Home!

We all have the same problems:
cellulite. Although we exercise and
eat right, somehow, that horrible
cellulite won’t get off. And truth be
told, cellulite can’t really be eliminated
from your thighs…but with these
at-home tips you can diminish the
look. Cellulite occurs when the
connective tissue pulls down on fat
causing the fat to bulge under the
skin. So the more fat you have on
your body, the more likely it is that
your cellulite will show…and the less
fat that you have on your body the
less likely it is the your cellulite will
be noticeable.

If you want to start, you have to
detoxify your body. This means that
you will have to take especially good
care of your liver and colon. No nicotine,
no caffeine, no fat foods, and plenty of
water. Rather, eat foods that are rich in
nutrients and vitamins such as nuts and
berries. Onions act as a natural diuretic
releasing water build-up from skin cells,
so be sure to eat onions too as they are a
fabulous tool against cellulite.

Now start off by exercising your butt
and thighs. Do specific exercises such
as biking and stair walking. Keep doing
this until you feel that you have built
up some muscle. Muscle well stretch
out the skin and smooth the dimpled
surface of your skin. To increase your
circulation, and break up the fat, massage
the troubled areas daily. You can also use
a shower massager and an exfoliator.
You can also use aromatherapy oils such
as sage, cypress, and juniper oils that aid
with cellulite reduction.

Another trick to combat cellulite is to wear
pantyhose. Pantyhose (especially the ones
that wrap tightly around your body) will help
compress fat and aid circulation. You can also
make your own at-home cellulite-reduction
solution. All you have to do is take some warm
coffee grounds and spread them on the cellulite.
Wrap it up with moist seaweed, then cover it up
with a plastic wrap. Keep it on for a half an hour,
then rinse off while massaging.

Define Your Eyes

As most people know, the eyes
are called the window to the soul.
You can tell almost everything by
looking in somebody’s eyes. And
what better way to make your
eyes stand out than by defining
then…and making the most of
your eyes! You can tell
everything by looking into
somebody’s eyes from joy,
to sadness, love, lust, fear,
dispair, etc.

Start off by choosing two neutral
or colorful eyeshadow colours.
Make sure that these two colours
will match as you will blend them
together and apply over your
eyelids just up under the browbone.
After having applied the two mixed
colours, you can apply a little bit of
shimmer shadow, or if you wish, a
cream eyeshadow. This will brighten
up your eyes and make them look fun!

To start defining your eyes, apply a thin
line of eyeliner in black, kohl, navy, brown,
khaki or plum. Gently pull the corner of
your eye outward, forming a straight line
along your lashes. Angling your pencil
toward your lashes, trace the line
working from the inside corner all the
way to the outside. Make sure that you
trace the line continuously and that it’s
perfectly straight.

If you wish to go with a more dramatic look,
you can apply a thicker line of eyeliner and in
a darker colour. This will make your eyecolour
stand out as well as define your eyes.

The Best Haircut

These days, it’s hard to find the
haircut that suits you, especially
with all the new colours and styles.
Even when you go to the salon, you
know you’re always scared of what
you’re going to look like when you’re
done. There are lots of different styles
out there to suit every person, but
you must also remember that even
if those styles look good, they might
not look good on you. So here is a
haircut that is very stylish, sexy,
and looks good on everyone.

So what is the best haircut, you ask?
Layered and a little shaggy! Here’s how
to achieve this look:

Start off by layering your
hair. Don’t layer
a lot in the back.
Leave most of the
layering or the front
so that it frames
your face.Don’t leave
layers above your earlobes on
long hair, or above your
eyes on short hair.
Make sure that they
frame your face. Don’t
let your hair grow
over your collarbone.
A few inches is okay, but not more than that.

Cut your hair in a V cut in the back. It
will leave your hair in the back look a
little longer, while on the sides a little
shorter so that it suits all faces and is
very easy to manage. This style is very
modern, elegant, and not to mention
extremely sexy.

How to Wax

Believe it or not, most European girls
wax, they do not shave. Why, you ask?
Simple! Waxing lasts longer, leaves your
skin smoother, and slowly gets rid of
the hairs the more you wax. But of
course, most girls wax because it’s
faster, cheaper, and painless. Regardless
of that, waxing is worth it in the long
run. You probably know already that
the more you shave, the more ingrown
hairs you get, which you cannot shave,
only pluck.

Although you have to grow your hair out
to wax, you don’t need to wait more than
a week! There are products out there that
work on short hair too, so you don’t have
to wait a month to wax your legs. Make
sure you choose a good product, either a
wax or sugar solution. Read the instructions
carefully and follow through, not forgetting
to test a patch of skin before waxing.

Start off with dry skin, this is very important.
Apply a thin layer of wax or sugar solution onto
your skin, following the hair growth direction.
Press the strip onto the solution and rub it
downwards. Grab a little piece at the end
(for example, at the bottom of your foot)
and quickly pull the strip towards you.
Make sure you putt in the opposite direction
of hair growth and that you do not pull
upwards or any other way. Repeat
procedure until all hair is gone.

As for the pain...you just have to take a deep
breath, bite your lip, and it’ll be over in a second.
Waxing only sting for about 2 seconds, and the
pain quickly disappears. If you get into the habit
of waxing, it will hurt less and less until eventually
your skin will get used to it, and it will not hurt!
Trust me, waxing is a lot better than shaving, plus
you get long-term results. The longer you wax,
your hairs slowly disappear and you’ll have to
wax less often!

Get More Volume When Blow-Drying

As you’ve probably noticed when
you go to the salon, hairdressers
use a term called “over”direction
which means that as you dry each
section, you pull the brush in the
opposite direction you want it to fall.
Don’t worry, it’s not as complicated
as it sounds. With these easy steps,
you’ll be a pro at blow-drying in no time!

So when you actually pull the brush in
the opposite direction, what it does is
that it has to loop up and over giving it
that desired height and body to your
hair. Start by using a volumizing
shampoo and conditioner.

Buy a good root lift product and apply
it to each section of the hair right at the
roots. With a wide-tooth comb, detangle
your hair and dry your hair using only
your hands until 80%. Start off at the
nape and gather a 5cm deep piece of
hair. Section that area. Brush through
that section again to make sure there
are no tangles. Draw your brush over
the surface of the section from roots to
ends, directing the hair up and against
the direction you want it to fall in.
Wind your hair around the brush
back towards the scalp (insuring the
ends are not bent). Unwind your
brush so that you leave about 5cm
of your hair to be dried.

Get a hairdryer with a nozzle attached
to it and dry your hair with the direction
of the airflow going onto the ends. The
air should go towards the brush but not
directly on the brush. Make sure you
always keep your hairdryer about 3-5
cm from your hair, so that it won’t burn.
Once each section is completely dry put
your hair dryer and brush down and insert
a velcro roller into the section.

After you hair your entire head in rollers
and it has cooled down, apply a little bit
of hairspray and remove each roller.
You will see amazing height and volume
added to your hair, and even if you do
think it might be a little too big, don’t
worry about it, it will settle down! Having
said that, apply some more hair spray
when the rollers are out and you’re set to go!

How to Blow-Dry Your Hair

Sure, everyone knows how to blow-dry
their hair…it’s common sense after all.
But not a lot of people know how to
blow-dry their hair the right way. Yes,
there is a right way, and a wrong way…
that is if you car what your hair looks
like. If you blow-dry your hair the wrong
way, you can risk burning your hair and
damaging it for a long long time.

I’m sure that you notice the difference
when you blow dry your hair at home as
opposed to when your hair is blow dried
at the salon, right? Well with these easy
steps and some practice, you too can
blow-dry your hair professionally!

Start off by applying a straightening
serum or balm throughout your hair.
Make sure you distribute evenly through
damp hair and avoid the roots. Gently
detangle your hair as not to break it,
and allow it to air dry about 90% of the way.

Section your hair horizontally leaving one
section free. Pull up all the hair that is left
over and secure it with some bobby pins
at the top of your head. Divide the free
hair into 4 manageable sections. Make
sure each section is about the same length
and thickness. Get out your hair dryer and
a good round brush. Hold the drier in one
hand, and the brush in the other hand.

Pick up one of the sections and move the
brush and the drier vertically, with the
airflow going down the hair shaft. After
you have finished drying the free section,
start removing the other sections one by
one, and doing the same thing. Finish off
by spraying some hairspray.

such as navy, turquoise, pink, aqua

For an elegant look, get a pair of big
bracelet pearls in pink or white. They
usually have a silk or satin ribbon that
ties at the ends. These are adorable as
well as very chic and elegant so wear
them on your night out and remember
to keep your jewellery and accessories
to a minimum!

These pearls are absolutely to die for!

Flirty Skirts

This summer, let it all hang out!
In this hot weather, you absolutely
have to show off those sexy legs!
And what better way to do that than

skirts with ruffles from cotton to jeans
to silk, anything you want for that perfect
occasion!

If you’re looking for a night out, put on that
jean flirty skirt with a silky top and a pair of
sexy sandals. Make your eyes look mysterious
and smoky and tease your hair a little at the

black sandals and you’ll look fabulous!

For a day at the beach, take out that ruffled
white cotton skirt and pair it with a cute
sequined tank top. You can either pair this
with a pair of flip-flips or some wedges. Pick a
neutral coloured bag like coral or a light orange
to match with everything you’re wearing. Keep
your makeup to a minimum…less is always more.

For en extra glamorous look, get a sexy silky
skirt that will look gorgeous when going to a
show or a dinner. If you’re going to wear a
silk skirt, don’t wear a silk top! Put on a top
that will match with the skirt but won’t look
exactly the same! As for the shoes, you’ll
need something elegant like a sexy slip-on
shoe with little rhinestones at the bottom.

The Hottest Sunglasses

With this heat and this sun, it is almost
impossible not to own a good pair of
sunglasses. Either way, when you
purchase a pair of sunglasses, most
of the time it’s not even for the
protection now is it? Admit it, you
only get them ‘cuz they’re a hot
accessory and they look good on
you! That’s perfectly fine, because
I’m going to show the hottest
sunglasses that were seen on the
runway this year. You won’t want to
skip this.

Although these sunglasses tend to be more
expensive, you can bet that they’re a much
better quality, therefore they last longer,
and they look exquisite!

Dior Sunglasses

These glasses made their way on the
Paris runway in May 2006. They are
very flexible and lightweight so you can
carry them anywhere you go! They are
made of durable, translucent plastic.
Colour choices include taupe, lilac, jade,
rose, bordeaux, and cognac. Even if they
bend or twist in your purse it’s no problem
because the hinges in these frames are designed
to spring back instantly back into shape!

Diesel Sunglasses

Second up, we have the Woodpecker sunglasses
from Diesel. These came out in July of this year
in Milan. They are definitely a hot item to have
if you can afford them. They have exquisite
detail on the side and come in wood and plastic
versions. The colours that are included are
ivory, tobacco, and soft baby pink. The
wooden versions of these shades have
exotic designer touches such as Indian
totems and gold temples.

Valentino Sunglasses

These sunglasses came out in June on Italy’s
runways. These sunglasses have tiny, rounded
turquoise stones and wenge wood embellish
new limited edition Valentino sunglasses.
Metal inserts on end pieces enhance the
frame's profile. Crystals also sparkle on the
front of the sunglasses, available in semi-
opaque gold with brown lenses or in rosé
gold with mirrored brown lenses.

Juicy Couture

These babies came out in February and hit
the runways of New York. These styles
include aviator and Jackie O. A "Juicy" logo
adds sparkle to the Gela sunglass frame model.
The new Shades of Couture collection also includes
wrap-around, rimless, and semi-rimless models.

Elegant Styles

For an elegant night out, you always
have to make sure that you look the
part. You need the right shoes, the right
accessories, the right hand bag, and of
course, the right outfit. Especially if you’ve
been waiting for that specific night…chances
are you’ll start going a little crazy because
“you have nothing to wear”. Most of this
“I have nothing to wear” is because, even
though you do have a lot of clothes, you’ve
worn them before, and you want something
new. But don’t forget that most people
haven’t seen you wear all of your clothes,
so don’t fret! Here are some tips to help you out.

FOR A SPORTIER LOOK:

Try pairing a striped tunic with a men’s style
jacket over skinny stovepipe jeans. Make sure
you have some heels!

FOR A FLIRTIER LOOK:

This might sound a little odd, but trust me,
you’ll look fabulous! A pair of slouched knit
socks with Mary Janes will work wonders
with a pair of cuffed capris or gauchos.

FOR A COMFIER LOOK:

Layer yourself with some oversized pearls
with a cashmere sweater and jeans. You can
wear boots, sandals, or stilettos with this look.

FOR AN ELEGANT LOOK:

Combine a skinny black jean with a tuxedo
jacket and some sexy sandals. You will look
absolutely stunning!

How to Beat the Heat

As most of you can see, the heat this
summer is just unbearable, especially
if you don’t have A/C in your car!
Although it’s hard to ignore it, there
are some little things that you can do
to cool yourself off and not look like a
melting piece of chocolate. Summer
can be a bit hard at times when you
sweat a lot and your makeup’s running,
and you just want to get out of your
clothes and jump into a pool, but don’t
fret I’ve got some easy tips for you that
you can follow this summer.
TIP NUMBER ONE:

Always have a pack of wet-wipes with you.
These are basically wet towelettes in a little
package that you can bring with you anywhere.
They’re alcohol and fragrance free so you don’t
have to worry about irritating your skin.
Anytime you need to cool down, just take one
out and wipe your skin with it. You’ll feel super
fresh and much cooler.
TIP NUMBER TWO:

Wear loose fitting clothes. If it’s really hot outside
and you’re not the kind to stand a big heat, don’t
wear tight jeans or a tight shirt. Wear loose fitting
clothes such as a flirty skirt or a looser shirt. Also
steer away from anything dark as it attracts the
sun and you’ll heat up in no time. Also be very
careful when you wear white t-shirts because if
you sweat a lot, chances are, it’ll show. Last but
not least, sleeveless shirts! Don’t wear a tight,
white t-shirt because not only will you sweat
pervusely, but it will show as well.
TIP NUMBER THREE:

Before you head out the door, take a shower.
It’s as simple as that. If you don’t want to leave
an odour behind you on a hot day, take a cold
shower before you leave and make sure you
exfoliate because that will get rid of your dead
skin cells. Don’t forget to put on a strong deodorant
and always carry one with you just in case.

TIP NUMBER FOUR:

Carry a body mist with you. Not only will it cool
you down, but it will also leave you smelling sweet.
Spritz some body mist on before you leave the
house and take it with you if you have a car. You
can just leave it there and use it when you need it!
