Using Cover-Up the Right Way

There are many different products on today’s
market from cover-ups, to concealers, eye-shadows,
lip-sticks, etc. But how do you know if you’re using
the right products for your face? Most people buy
whatever they can afford and then see for themselves
if the product is right or wrong. Sure you might not like
the shade of lip-gloss that you bought last week, or the
eye-shadow leaves creases, but it is of the utmost
importance what you put directly on your face and that
is your cover-up.

Golden rule number one: if you don’t need it don’t wear it.
Unless you’re going to some fancy outing and you’ve got your
outfit and your hair done, put a little cover-up on just to hide
those imperfections or any redness that might be present.
Whatever you do, don’t wear cover-up every day because
as well all know, your face is prone to break outs.

For those of us that are less fortunate, and don’t have
blemish-free faces, we must use cover-up whenever we l
eave the house. It’s a terrible thing; your face is breaking
out and you’re applying cover-up…blocking your pores
and your pimples which in turn gives you even more bad
results. So what is a girl to do? I’m sure that by now we
all know the simple rules of washing; using a face wash
that suits our skin (dry, oily, etc.) followed by toner and a
good moisturizer. But even doing that may not be enough.

It is very important that you choose a good cover-up and
never ever go cheap. Even if you shell out $40 for a cover-up,
it’s ok! You don’t want to buy something just because it’s
cheap and then have to invest on a ton of products following
some serious break-outs. So what is the right cover-up then?
The right cover-up is the one that suits your skin tone and
that won’t leave you full of pimples. It’s simple! Like I said,
spend some money on a good cover-up! I absolutely love the
cover-ups from Shiseido. They go on very smoothly and it
looks like you don’t have anything on! The best part though
is that it doesn’t clog your pores!

Make sure you apply moisturizer before you apply your
cover-up, and blend it evenly over your face. Make sure
you go down on your neck as well so that your cover-up
doesn’t end right at your chin because it is noticeable.
Most importantly, pick a cover-up that is one shade
darker than your skin tone so that you can hide your
blemishes and imperfections. Last but not least, wash your
face before you go to bed because even if it doesn’t clog your
pores, you don’t want to sleep with your cover-up and wake
up with a big surprise!
