Healthy Refreshing Foods

It looks like it's going to be a scorching summer
and we all know what that means; sweat, hotness
and all the blahs that come with it. But there are
also the good things such as the beach, the clothes
and pretty much everything else.

And if you're like me,
for some reason, fast food just doesn't appeal to you
in the summer. You want something refreshing and healthy.
Not only will these foods make your skin glow but they
will make you feel better, look better, and shed off some
pounds too!

Kiwi, Raspberry, Papaya Fruit Salad

Doesn't this sound fabulous? Mix these delicious fruits
together and lounge in the back yard with a good book.
You'll feel refreshed and healthy. These babies are packed
with tons of Vitamin C which is crucial to your immune
system. Kiwis and papayas are great because they add
potassium to your diet which helps your body to stay
hydrated, regulates your nerves, heartbeat and blood pressure.
Raspberries are great because full of proteins and Vitamin C
all in one. Add some low-fat cheese to your salad and it will
be to die for! Healthy, refreshing food you can always count on.

Cantaloupe and Ricotta Cheese

Sound good? You bet it is! Another healthy, refreshing food
that you can munch on all day! Cantaloupes are very refreshing
and they also contain Vitamins A and C. Combine it with
ricotta cheese which is packed with proteins and you've got
a full meal as well as your calcium intake which is equal to drinking a 1/2 cup of milk.
You can also add some ricotta cheese to a piece
of bread and a pita. Ricotta cheese is a great substitute for cottage
cheese because it is low in fat.

Serving Sizes: 1 cup cantaloupe, about 54 calories 1/4
cup part-skim ricotta, about 86 calories 1 slice whole
wheat bread, about 69 calories 1 small whole wheat pita,
about 74 calories.
